Commander’s Message

Military Order of Foreign Wars
Of the United States

Dear Companions of the Military Order of Foreign Wars of the United States,

I wanted to let you know how honored and deeply humbled I am to serve as your Commander-General of the Order. I assumed Command on April 3, 2018 at Fort Meyer, Virginia. I want to thank our Past Commander-General Chuck Trombetta for the transition assistance he has provided to me and his willingness to serve as the current Secretary General until we can find a suitable replacement. I would also like to thank all the Past Commander-Generals who have provided advice and continuing guidance as I take the helm of the Organization. Our Companions, Officers and dedicated servants of others none of the great things we do for our Communities is possible without each of you.

I do wish to share a critical point with each of you. We are in a lot of ways like every Veteran Service Organization today, we are in a period of building the Membership and solidifying the core policies and procedures which tie our organization together. As with all Veteran Organizations we have an aging populous and our younger Veterans and Hereditary Members are not flocking to our Ranks. We are each an Ambassador to the Order and it would greatly assist us for each of our Members and Organizations to actively pursue new Members. Since coming on in March as the Commander-General we have seen numerous new Members and it is a wonderful experience for everyone involved from the lowest level each time we add someone to our MOFW Family.

We are also going to actively pursue recruiting for the MOFWUS General Staff and a list of open positions will be coming out very soon from the Secretary General for nominations from the field. We need to continue building on our successes as an Organization to ensure viability for our future generations.

I look forward to meeting everyone as we embark upon this journey and may God continue to bless each of us, our family, the MOFW and the United States of America.
